Proximity probe transducers

TM0180

The TM-0180 Proximity Probe Transmitters are used for non-contact measurements of shaft vibration measurements. Each system consists of a probe TM0180, extension cable TM0181, and a driver TM0182. The TM series proximity probe systems are designed to meet API 670 standards. The voltage output is directly proportional to the measured distance between the metallic target and the sensor face.

The sensors are equipped with armour cables and connectors.

Piezoelectric Acceleration sensor

TM-0782A

The hermetic sealed industrial piezoelectric accelerometer TM-0782 is designed to monitor the vibration in harsh industrial environment. It uses the industry standard ®ICP 2-wire voltage transmission technic with a 4 mA minimum constant current supply. Signal ground is isolated from the mounting surface and outer case to prevent ground loops. Faraday shielding will limit sensitivity to ESD to a minimum. Annular shear mode design prevents from thermal transient and from spurious signal from high transverse vibrations. Low noise electronic and temperature compensated design will ensure accurate results over the complete temperature range. The sensor provides a voltage output proportional to the vibration acceleration across the two transmission wires. The DC standing voltage is used for OK detection and the dynamic voltage for vibration monitoring.

Key Feature

  • International Protection Rating IP68
  • Polyurethane twisted pair Integral cable 10m
  • Annular shear mode for reduced transverse vibrations sensitivity
  • Dual case isolation with Faraday shield
  • Exceptional bias voltage stability at elevated temperatures
  • Stainless steel body protected against water, shock

Piezoelectric Velocity sensor

TM-0793V

The hermetic sealed industrial piezovelocity transducer TM-0793V is designed to monitor the vibration in harsh industrial environment. It uses the industry standard ©ICP 2-wire voltage transmission technic with a 4 mA standard constant current supply. Signal ground is isolated from the mounting surface and outer case to prevent ground loops. Faraday shielding limits sensitivity to EMC to a minimum. Annular shear mode prevents from thermal transient and base strain. Low noise electronic and a temperature compensated design will ensure accurate results over the complete temperature range. Piezovelocity sensors use an internal integration circuit which inherently decrease high frequency signals allowing better measurement of low frequency signal. Paper machine dryers (when steam leaks), pumps (cavitation high frequency noise) are prone to such phenomenon. The sensor provides a voltage output proportional to the vibration velocity across the two transmission wires. The DC standing voltage is used for OK detection and the dynamic voltage for vibration monitoring.

Key Feature

  • Annular shear mode is less susceptible to base strain
  • Dual case isolation with Faraday shield
  • Ultra low noise electronic
  • Miswiring and surge protections
  • Low cost IP67 overmolded M12 cable assembly
  • M12 offers compatibility with sensors used in automation
  • Stainless steel body protected against water, and shock.

Fiberoptic Acceleration Sensor (Launching Soon)

The FAS Fiberoptic Acceleration Sensor is by design nonconductive and immune to electromagnetic interferences. Its optical link ensures an excellent electrical insulation (greater than 65kV rms) between the sensor and the instrumentation. Its passive technology makes it ideal for shock and vibration measurements in areas where conventional piezo-electric and piezoresisitive accelerometers may create hazards to machine and personnel, and impair reliable operation. The optical sensor body is made of ceramic and polymer with no metallic elements. The optical fibers are embedded and protected by an integral 5 mm diameter thick PTFE tubing with a minimum bending radius of 80 mm. It is available in 6, 10 or 15m lengths. The sealed feedthrough connector houses the optoelectronic and conditioning circuitry. Thanks to the built-in double integrators, acceleration and displacement outputs are available simultaneously at the connector. External +24VDC power supply is required for three wire transmission.

Key Feature

  • ATEX II 3 G [Ex mb] IIC T4
  • 6,10 or 15m of extension cable with connector
  • Acceleration and displacement outputs
  • Excellent electrical insulation (> 65 kVrms) between sensor head and feedthrough conditioner
  • Light weight sensor head of non-metallic parts
  • Unsensitive to magnetic and electrical fields
  • Low transverse sensitivity ; very good thermal stability up to 155°C
  • Frequency range : 10 to 400 Hz
  • Dynamic range : 0 to 40g/1mm pk-pk@100Hz

Eddy Current Digital Reference Sensor

PRS-200

The Model PRS-200 Eddy current digital reference sensor is a self-contained, non-contact position sensor. Not only do they not contain parts prone to mechanical wear, but they are also virtually insensitive to environmental influences. Eddy current proximity switches react only to metal parts, which is an advantage in many cases (insensitivity to dirt). When a conductive, generally metallic, object enters into the magnetic field generated by the sensor, the latter is influenced in a way that it can be detected and evaluated by the built-in electronics. The PRS-200 includes an extension cable, a metallic target.

Key Feature

  • Operating distance : 0 to 2mm
  • Supply voltage range 10 to 30 VDC
  • Output voltage drop < 2V at 200 mA
  • Built-in short-circuit protection
  • Built-in voltage reversal protection
  • Built-in induction protection
  • Switching frequency < 3kHz
